Rhode Island Privateer1 Sloop2 Adams was commissioned on 12 November 1776 under Commander George Shokely. Her owner was listed as Jeremiah Platt.3 In her Connecticut application of 30 July 1777 she was described as measuring 98 tons, armed with ten 4-pounders and four 3-pounders, and with a crew of eighty men.4 [See also Connecticut Privateer Sloop Adams]
